Interschool Win Four Years Running

The Tenison Woods College Swimming Team has successfully defended their title at the 2018 SESSSA Interschool Swimming Carnival on Friday 16 February. The win makes it four in a row for the college. It was a dominant performance by our swimmers who won all age group shields, broke six long standing records & finished 222 points ahead of second placed school, Grant High School. A Week of Swimming Talent and Fun

The strong tradition of swimming excellence and fun-filled water novelty games continued last week with the Year 8-12 Swimming Carnival on Thursday 15 February and the Year 4-7 Twilight Swimming Carnival on Friday 16 February. And in the middle of all that, the Tenison Woods College interschool swimming team excelled at the SESSSA Interschool Carnival on Friday 16 February, winning for the fourth year in a row!

8/9 Cricketers Knock-out Bordertown

Congratulations to our Year 8/9 Boys Cricket team who have won the second round of the SSSA Knockout cricket competition, against Bordertown High School at Tenison Woods College on Wednesday 21 February. The boys defeated Bordertown with one wicket in hand after the opposition posted a total of 82 runs. Stand outs with the ball were Liam Turley and Ethan Sims and the run makers for Tenison Woods College were Ryan Kuhl (35) and Harry Fisher (25).

We congratulate all the boys and wish them luck as they now move on to the next stage of competition.

Each week we will be sharing with the community, a recipe from the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program.

This week, various Year 7 students prepared and cooked Zucchini Fritters in their Home Economics class.

Champagnat Champs at 8-12 Swimming Carnival

The Year 8-12 Swimming Carnival took place on Thursday of week 3 and was a highly successful day. Held annually at the Mount Gambier Aquatic Centre, conditions weren’t favourable with rain and strong winds challenging all competitors. Rough weather aside, students and spectators saw some of the fastest times posted in years!

Open Boys Knockout Cricket Win

The Tenison Woods College Open Boys Knockout Cricket Team have defeated Naracoorte High School in the first round of the SSSA Knockout Cricket Competition.

Playing at South Gambier Cricket Grounds on Wednesday 21 February, the Tenison Woods College team scored 255 runs in total. Run makers for the match were Tye McMannus (109), Connor Prior (45) and Ethan Marks (37).

Tenison bowled out Naracoorte High School to win by 126 runs. Well done to Connor Prior who took five wickets.

The boys will now move on to the second round of the SSSA Knockout competition. Well done!

4 - 7 Swimming Carnival

On Friday 16 February, the Year 4-7 Twilight Swimming Carnival took place at the Mount Gambier Aquatic Centre.

As in previous years, the carnival started in the afternoon, so students finished classes at lunch time and then caught a bus to the Aquatic Centre for a 2:30pm start.

Brother Mark Paul, from Aquinas College will be visiting Tenison Woods College on 22 and 23 March to meet with students and parents who are interested in 2019 enrolments. There will be a presentation and Q&A on the Thursday evening at 7.00pm, and opportunity for individual interviews with Year 12 students on the Friday.
