SACE Browser - MacBook Freezing Error

27.09.2023

Currently for the SACE Safe Exam Browser v3.2.5, there have been issues with launching the application for the first time, where the app will freeze on MacBooks when clicking any button (such as the quit button, Practice Exam button, Test button, etc). When this occurs, the cursor infinitely spins and there is no way to quit the application besides from restarting/ shutting down the device. A solution to this problem has been found, but it must be set up before opening the application.

IMPORTANT: DO THIS BEFORE OPENING THE SACE SAFE EXAM BROWSER

To stop the freezing error that can occur when using the app, do the following:

In System Settings, go to Privacy & Security, and click on Full Disk Access

Click on the plus symbol (circled in red)

In Applications, select SACE Safe Exam Browser v3.2.5 and click Open

This will now add the SACE Safe Exam Browser to the list. Ensure the slider is on

Restart your MacBook and then continue with the steps. (SACE Browser setup link)
