Canberra Camp 2019

Canberra Camp - Day 7

13.11.19

What an experience!

We feel incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to take these wonderful young people away for the week! We have had many questions, opportunities to learn, more questions, chances to build our friendship groups, more questions, opportunities to pay respects to our service men and women, more questions.... and most importantly a whole lot of fun together.

This camp would not have been possible without the wonderful team of parent volunteers who took time away from their own families and careers to share these experiences with us. On behalf of the teachers, students and Tenison Woods community we offer the biggest thank you possible to Travis Fatchen, Matt Collins, Gillian Watterson, Thea Fila, Karen Mitchell and Michaela Bell! They were brilliant helpers, mentors and role models for the children! We are all incredibly grateful for all their efforts. I am sure they are all excited to sleep in their own beds tonight!

To Max and Milton from Gambier Coach lines, we say a huge thank you! Not just for this year, but for the 21 years of Canberra Camp service. They have been super professional and great with the students. Ensuring we all return home safely.

Finally, we cannot stress enough how proud we are of this cohort of young people! They could not have represented themselves, their families and our college any better! We received so much positive feedback through the week from the places we visited, all highlighting the manners, maturity and respect shown from our children! I hope the students return home with a real sense of pride and accomplishment!

Signing off for the last time, the Canberra Camp staff of 2019
