Multi Factor Authentication

 

   IF YOU HAVE USED MFA BEFORE - YOU CAN ADD A NEW DEVICE HERE

 

IF IT IS NEW TO YOU PLEASE FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS

 

  • Log into SEQTA and click Email

 

 

  • Log into Office 365 with your school email address and password.

 

 

  • If MFA is turned on for your account. You will be presented with the following screen. Click Next.

 

 

  • IF YOU PLAN ON USING THE MOBILE APP [recommended] - On the next screen select Mobile App and Use Verification Code and click Set up

If you do not wish to use the App, or your phone software is too old to use the app then you can use SMS. This means that each time you log into the portal you will receive a SMS with a verification code.

  • IF YOU PLAN ON USING SMS INSTEAD - On the next screen select Authentication Phone, Choose Australia and enter your mobile number.
  • You will then receive an SMS with a code - you will need to enter this code into the next page.

 

 

IF YOU SELECTED MOBILE APP

  • The next step is to install the Microsoft Authenticator App on your mobile phone so you can scan the presented QR code

 

 

  If you have an Apple Device visit the App store and install Microsoft Authenticator

 

 

  If you have an Android Device visit the Google Play Store and install Microsoft Authenticator

 

 

   iOS

Once the app is installed click;

Add Account 

Continue

Work or School Account

OK

Then scan the QR Code and press Next on your computer

 

  Android

Once the app is installed click;

Data Privacy - OK

Add Account

Work or School Account

Allow

Scan the QR Code and press Next

 

Your PC screen will display 'How should we contact you?'

  • Select Mobile App
  • Select Use verification code
  • Press Next

 

  • Enter the code into your PC that is displayed on your mobile app

 

Next your computer will request your mobile number in case your lose access to the app. [Remember to drop the leading 0]

 

 

  • You will then need to re-log into your Office 365 account on your computer using your password.

Your PC will then ask you to enter in the code from your phone. This will be a different code from last time.

  • Click Verify

This will then log you into your account.

In future when logging into the office 365 portal you will be prompted for a code from your mobile phone.
