On Saturday night, the annual Stand Like Stone Foundation's Swinging with the Stars event took place at the Barn Palais, and many Tenison Woods College staff and one student were proudly able to be part of it.
Congratulations to Brody Virgo, Mathematics Coordinator and Senior School Math Teacher who was one of the 8 'Stars' on show, and took out the Outstanding Dancer prize.
An honourable mention also to past scholar and Public Relations Trainee Bree Robinson who was involved as the dance partner to Josh Hancock from Kingston.
All stars and dancers committed to four months of dance rehearsals in the leadup to the event, with all stars raising money for their selected sub-fund along the way. Brody chose to raise funds for the Limestone Coast Mental Health and Wellbeing sub-fund. Collectively, the eight stars raised over $211,000 for the Limestone Coast. Such a wonderful result for their dedication.
Additionally, performing in the band for the evening were:
• Gabriel Strachan (Year 10) on Trombone
• Staff members Jack Heaven (Saxophone) and Nathan Creedy (Drumkit)
• Instrumental teacher Isaac Bruggemann (Trumpet)
Tenison Woods College respectfully acknowledges the Boandik people are the First Nations people of the Mount Gambier South Eastern region of South Australia and pay respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, past, present and emerging.
