Lion's Mad Minute Grand Challenge

26.06.25

Congratulations to Year 5 Students Lacey Button, Bella Aarts and Leo Mules, who represented Tenison Woods College in the Lion's Mad Minute Finals. All three students represented the College well, spoke clearly and had amazing points.

Lacey was awarded first place and best overall for the Lower Limestone Coast, across a pool of 18 schools representing the Lower South East.

Tenison Woods College also won the Division 1 Aggregate Trophy, competing against five other large schools in the region.

Leo’s topic was ‘dessert is the best part of the meal’. Bella’s topic was ‘snakes are scarier than spiders’ and Lacey’s topic was ‘sunrise was better than sunset’.

Once given a topic, students could choose how they approached their argument, whether they agreed or disagreed, and were then given one minute to present their speech. All students prepared and performed incredibly throughout the Mad Minute process. A huge thank to the Lions Club for supporting students in making their voices heard!

Tenison Woods College respectfully acknowledges the Boandik people are the First Nations people of the Mount Gambier South Eastern region of South Australia and pay respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, past, present and emerging.
