Every Wednesday lunch time, we feature our Career Chat series for Years 10 to 12. Students are invited to bring their lunch and listen to a panel of speakers from a particular field of work. Last week, we were very fortunate to host a number of Allied Health professionals; Kristy Wreford - Speech Pathologist (Steps Speech Pathology), Sarah Coshan - Physiotherapist, Tara Brook - Occupational Therapist (Country Health Connect) and Heather Agnew, Allied Health Coordinator for Flinders University. They each provided an insight into what each occupation does, in addition to providing advice to students considering an allied health pathway. Heather was then able to explain different study pathways and what is offered in Mount Gambier to achieve a qualification in Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.
More than 35 students attended this session. On Wednesday 25 June, the Career Chat will again feature Allied Health, specifically Audiology, Pharmacy and Optometry.
We again thank Kristy, Sarah, Tara and Heather for sharing their time and
expertise with our students.
