The year 7/8 girls knockout team faced a fired up Concordia College led by Olympian Laura Hodges. CC shot out to an early lead and never looked back. Our girls played the opposition to a stand still after half time as they warmed into the competition. Concordia too strong 33-23.
Second up we enjoyed a strong win against Brighton. Learning and growing with each quarter, stronger defense led to many fast break opportunities and plenty of high percentage shots around the basket. Our girls did a great job finishing with a 54 -21 win.
In the third and final match of the day we played the home team St Francis. Boasting a team of state players, St Francis' skills and shooting was far too good for TWC. Despite winning the second half and never giving up our girls went down 64-44.
The attitude and togetherness of the team across the day was second to none. They played with great spirit and intent regardless of score and came away with an enjoyable learning experience. Well done girls!
