This week, the Early Learning & Community Centre has been undertaking Connection to Country walks—an opportunity to deepen our understanding and appreciation of Boandik land and explore what this means within our Centre community. On Wednesday, they had the honour of being joined by Nathan Watson, a proud Boandik man from Deadly Didge. Nathan offered a heartfelt Welcome to Country, shared his original song in Bunganditj language, and played the didgeridoo, accompanied by the children with clapping sticks. It was a truly powerful and moving experience. They are deeply grateful for the knowledge and cultural richness Nathan shared — bringing to life the stories, history, and spirit of the land on which we live, learn, and play.
Tenison Woods College respectfully acknowledges the Boandik people are the First Nations people of the Mount Gambier South Eastern region of South Australia and pay respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, past, present and emerging.
