Yesterday, our students proudly participated in the 25th annual National Simultaneous Storytime, joining over a million children across Australia and beyond in a collective reading experience. This year's featured book was 'The Truck Cat', written by Deborah Frenkel and illustrated by Danny Snell. This heartwarming story follows Tinka, a curious cat, and Yacoub, a migrant truck driver, as they navigate themes of separation, reunion, and the meaning of home. Organised by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), National Simultaneous Storytime aims to promote the value of reading and literacy by having children across the nation in schools, libraries and homes read the same book simultaneously.
