Year 7-9 Girls Football Success

21.08.24

On Thursday 8 August, our Year 7-9 girls travelled to McDonald Park (East Gambier Football Club) to participate in the Knockout Football tournament against Grant High School and Naracoorte High School. The team showcased a remarkable combination of talent and experience, seamlessly working together to excel in each game.

The first match against Grant High School was a high scoring game for our team who's defense, spearheaded by Gracie was steadfast. The team demonstrated excellent teamwork, with seven different players scoring goals, reflecting our unselfish play and ability to make the best choices. Our passing and connections through the midfield were particularly effective.

In the final match against Naracoorte High School, Tenison Woods College displayed dominance from the start, securing a commanding win. Kalani Dunn made a remarkable impact by scoring four goals in the opening minutes. Once again, our defense was exemplary.

Overall, the team’s leadership was outstanding, with Captains Bell and Asha setting a high standard both on and off the field. The players exhibited advanced skills, including effective one-on-one confrontations and smooth ball transitions through the midfield. The team’s morale and mutual support were also significant highlights of the day.

Congratulations to all players for their exceptional effort and sportsmanship throughout the tournament!
