Junior A Netball Team Crowned Waverley International School Netball Champions 2024

In the final week of Term 2, 40 Tenison Woods College netballers made the journey to Melbourne to compete at the Waverley International School Netball Championships where they played various schools from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and the Pacific Islands. The college took four teams, a Senior A and B and Junior A and B team comprising an incredible pool of talent with many of the netballers representing their respective clubs at senior level. The college were extremely successful with their Junior A Netball team crowned the Waverley International School Netball Champions 2024 taking out Rowville Secondary College 28-24 in a very close and exciting grand final. The talented team coached by teacher and local netballer, Kaitlin Egan comprised of netballers, Bell Coghlan, Raine Darimaani, Emily Denton, Kalani Dunn, Lucy Egan, Asha Gysbers, Mischa Human, Bailee Lewis, Ruby Milich and Emily Skeer. The Senior A team were successful throughout their campaign coming third overall after defeating Mercedes College 35-18. Unfortunately, they went down in the semifinal by 5 to Rowville, who ended up the overall winners. The Senior B team were defeated by Waiuku Gold and Singapore placing them 16th overall and gaining incredible experience playing against a diverse array of teams. The Junior B team finished strong in 7th place overall defeating Woodcroft by a nail biting 3 goals in their final match. All four teams were led by college staff and experienced coaches, Donna Denton, Narelle Ryan, Kaitlin Egan, Angela Queale and Manageress', Jorja Mitchell and Siobhan Adams who were proud of the commitment made by all 40 netballers on what was an incredible experience for the girls.
