2024 School Captain - Bree Robinson

28.02.24

This year, I am part of something so much larger than myself. I am part of something over 1600 people strong. I feel so honoured to have earned the role as school captain of 2024, and feel it is now our responsibility to introduce change to our community. For me that looks like fostering a school environment that feels like a second family, where every one of our students feel they belong, can be who they want to be, celebrate themselves and each other, and understand how far kindness can go.

A little background on me, I am a dancer, hoping to one day do it professionally, and eventually study medicine. I am known as Miss Bree to kids from 4 to 14, fortunate to help kids grow, along the way learning patience, conscientiousness, and most importantly, to be a role model. I work on weekends at Bay Blue Espresso Bar, I am a volunteer at breakfast club, the Sunset Community Kitchen, the Early Learning Centre, working bees, fundraisers and school events, and was part of the Timor Leste Immersion in 2023, igniting my passion to help all of the children there in any way I can during my last year at school.

Since coming to Tenison Woods College in year 8, I have learnt what is admirable in a person our age, and to be someone who can be relied on to be a voice, to lead, or to listen.  I am known as a bubbly, smiling face who is always ready to lend a helping hand. I feel so much pride for this the College and aim to represent all the amazing qualities this school stands for. I value being an example of someone who is caring, passionate, hard-working, and gives their all to everything they do. I am committed to being a visible, enthusiastic, and approachable leader in 2024, someone anyone can go to, and all students can look up to.

I am so lucky to lead alongside Teangi, and this year, I am excited to work shoulder to shoulder alongside the junior, middle and senior leadership team, teachers and students to leave a positive mark on the school, where we can help everyone to thrive; to feel seen and heard and open our hearts and arms to all.

Tenison Woods College respectfully acknowledges the Boandik people are the First Nations people of the Mount Gambier South Eastern region of South Australia and pay respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, past, present and emerging.
