Scholarships Awarded to Year 12 Students

10.08.22

Year 12 students Maixence Williams and Sari Mutton were presented with a District Council of Grant Scholarship, awarded by Councillor Kylie Boston during the Year 12's combined home group this week. Typically an award for one student, it became apparent to the judging panel that two students deserved equal consideration.

Both Maixence and Sari are high-achieving students, holding similar leadership roles, and who strongly demonstrate the ethos of the school. They both also come from local family businesses and intend to study a degree in line with the business, and return to the region. The businesses are local industry producers, adding great value and interest to our region (one is in the fishing sector based at Port MacDonnell and the other in the boutique brewery business based in Yahl). It became clear that both students were equally deserving of the scholarship.

The annual $500 Scholarship is awarded to a student residing in the District Council of Grant who meets a number of criteria and intends to go onto further study. We thank the District Council of Grant for their generosity in recognising two deserving recipients.

Congratulations to Maixence and Sari!
