Year 3 Teacher Discovers Unique Teaching Technique

18.05.22

Moving students from one activity to the next can be one of the most challenging aspects of teaching. However, Year 3 teacher, Narelle Drew, has found that transition songs help execute this change of task quickly with minimal direction. Narelle believes the music transitions in her classroom are important for students to stay motivated, giving them an opportunity to stretch their bodies and take a break from learning.

These transitions help students move smoothly between activities and allow them to stay focused and engaged with each task, encouraging them to selfregulate themselves between lessons.
