SAPSASA District Athletics Day

11.05.22

On Wednesday 4 May we took a contingent of 37 students to Mt Gambier High School for the annual SAPSASA District Athletics Day.

Students were competing against other schools and for the chance to represent the Lower South East in Adelaide in Term 3. The carnival was open to students aged 9 to 12 years of age and events included 100m, 200m, 800m, long jump, high jump, shot put and discus.

We haven't received official results yet, but all students participated extremely well and enjoyed the day, with the main emphasis of the day being enjoyment, participation, competition and social interaction. Students' participation in SAPSASA carnivals and championships promotes skill development and allows children to experience competition outside the local district.

Many thanks for Mrs Dickson, Elyse Willoughby, Mrs Gordon and Mr Humphries for their assistance on the day.
