University and TAFE Entry Requirements

University Entry Requirements
The Tenison Woods College Senior School offers a broad range of TAS (Tertiary Admission Subjects) that support pathways to various university degrees.

Students who complete the SACE are eligible for university entry, provided they meet specific requirements. To be eligible for an ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank), students must successfully complete:

  • 90 credits of Stage 2 subjects, including three 20-credit TAS subjects, and
  • The remaining 30 credits can be completed through additional Stage 2 subjects or recognised courses, as defined by SATAC.

The ATAR is the most common pathway for university admission. Some university courses may also require specific prerequisite subjects. Students are guided through the subject selection process to ensure that pre-requisite subjects are chosen in line with their study and career goals. Universities may also offer alternative entry pathways for students who do not meet ATAR or SACE requirements. In such cases, students are guided to explore and pursue the most suitable pathway for their goals.

Full details of university and TAFE entry requirements can be found in the Tertiary Entrance Booklet available via the SATAC website: www.satac.edu.au

TAFE Entry Requirements
SA recognises the SACE as meeting the entry requirements for most of its certificate and diploma-level courses. It also considers a range of other qualifications, experiences, and pathways as part of its selection process. Students are guided through course options and application processes to support successful transitions beyond school.

If parents/carers or students have any questions about university or TAFE pathways, they are encouraged to contact the Futures Team for further guidance and support by emailing futuresteam@tenison.catholic.edu.au.
