Shining in the Classroom: Students make International friendships

13.03.19

Stage 1 Chinese students were given a special opportunity to video chat with students in China. Students from our College have been wanting to converse with students in China and Mr Sun was asked if this was possible.

Mr Sun was able to connect with his former High School Teacher Mrs Lin in Hubei in China to organise something special for his class - a video chat between the students!

Prior to this occurring, Mrs Lin had asked her students to send handwritten letters to our students full of questions about life in Australia.

Our students took full advantage of the video chat session, even speaking Chinese to the students in Hubei.

Mr Mezinec and Language Area Coordinator Mrs Pepe also joined in the video chat to say hello, (“你好)!

This excellent learning opportunity was able to assist the Stage 1 Chinese students with their second assessment task.
