Netball Academy

31.10.18

Week one of the school holidays a group of 30 girls travelled to Adelaide to complete in the Mellor Olsson Academy Netball Games. The girls have trained for 6-7 months, one Sunday a month, learning a variety of netballs skills and developing their knowledge of the game.

They were also given the opportunity to be coached by Former Thunderbirds Coach Marg Angove OAM. The division 1 girls had a hard first day of competition coming up against Northern Metro 1 and Eyre Netball. Unfortunately going down to both these teams in the first day. Day two saw the girls step up and win 3/3 with a few close games against Adelaide Metro 1 and 2.

Finals day came around and the girls saved all their netball for the last day. Beating Northern Metro 1 in the semi-final saw us advance to the grand final and take on Adelaide Metro 1. It was a tight tussle but credit to the girls who dug deep, fought hard and came away with the win to make the South East Region winners and the best Netball Academy in South Australia. Special shout out the Tenison girls who did the School and region proud.
