All Saints & All Soul’s Days

The month of November, beginning with All Saints  Day on November 1 and followed by All Soul’s Day on November 2 is traditionally the month the Catholic Church honours and remembers the Saints and heroes of the Church, and relatives and friends who have died. We are reminded that living or dead, we belong to the Communion of Saints ie that those living on earth, and those who have lived before, are all united in the Body of Christ.

Please see local parish bulletins for mass times on All Saints Day and All Soul’s Day.

On Sunday November 4, the memorial flags will be put in place on the pathway of St Paul’s Church where they will remain for the month of November. There will be a shared lunch in the hall following mass.

Mass for 50 years of the Chapel

On November 10 we will be celebrating 50 years since the Dedication of the Marist Brothers College Chapel in 1968. The Chapel was built after an intensive fundraising campaign by the Old Collegians of the day. The building was officially opened by Dr. A J. Forbes,M.H.R. and blessed by Archbishop Beovich in front of a large crowd of approximately 700. Other dignitaries were Br. Aidan (School Principal), Dean Travers (Parish Priest), Brother Oliver (representing the Marist Brothers) and Mr. John Duigan (representing the Old Collegians Association).

To celebrate this significant anniversary, we will be holding a Mass in the Chapel at 5:00pm on Monday November 12. A commemorative tree planting will follow the Mass. We would encourage families to attend and invite along family members and friends who may have had a connection with the College at some point.
