Reading Hour Success

25.09.18

On Thursday 20 September we celebrated the annual, National ‘Reading Hour’ during a twilight reading session from 5:30-6:30pm in the Tenison Woods College Library. This year, we selected Aaron Blabey’s Pig the Pug series as our theme for the night. Those in attendance enjoyed listening to some of the Pig the Pug titles, read by teachers Ben Paparella, Scott Dickson and Katie Window. As an extra surprise and possible highlight of the night, we had two adorable pug guests Alonzo and Henry present for the evening, overseeing the reading and willingly accepting pats and attention! The addition of a craft activity proved popular this year and the children were deeply engaged in creating their own special ‘pug’ bookmarks to take home. As always, the Library looked very enchanting under the glow of fairy lights and it was a pleasure to share the wonder and magic of reading with our younger students and families.
