Homestay Families Needed

Tenison Woods College is presently looking for suitable families to host International students both short term and long term. Suitable families range from families with younger children, families with teenage children, a single person or an older couple/family with no children at home.

By hosting a student from another country it gives you a better understanding of a different culture; their traditions, language and food while developing new friendships and lifelong friends with someone from another culture. It encourages and embraces the sharing of knowledge, traditions and languages. It improves tolerance and respect while extending your life experiences to a global stage.

The Homestay Program at Tenison Woods College is a very successful program which has been running since 2001. In that time, we have had families from Mount Gambier, Penola and Millicent who have enjoyed the experience of hosting a student from Overseas.

SHORT TERM EXCHANGE PROGRAM (2 – 3 weeks)

Short term International students are students that participate in international cultural visits and exchange programs usually lasting from 2 – 3 weeks. Currently we have students from Japan that will be visiting us in March, 2019. These students pay $230/week for accommodation and meals.

LONG TERM INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS (5 months & 10 months)

Long term International students are full time homestay. International students are a welcome addition to a wide variety of family situations. From past experiences, international students have settled into life in Australia living with an Australian family very easily. The students enjoy our easy going way of life.

We have students from Italy, Spain, Germany & France who will be studying at Tenison Woods College long term in 2019. International students pay $230 per week for accommodation and meals.

FULL TIME INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Full time International students study at Tenison Woods College for a period of up to 3 years. These students usually go back to their home country over the Christmas break and return to Mt. Gambier late January in time to commence their next year of study at Tenison Woods College. These students fast become ‘one of the family’ and soon become an integral part of your family. Full time International students pay $230 per week for accommodation and meals.
