Jacob Salmon’s Cross Country Success

05.09.18

Recently, Year 5 Tenison Woods College Student Jacob Salmon competed in the Australian Cross Country Championships an event held over three days in Queensland.

The Cross Country course in Maleny, Qld was really difficult. The SA State coach described it as the most difficult course he has ever seen. Brutal was the word being bandied around by all the parents. Jacob ran 22nd in the 11 Year olds age group from 43 runners over 3kms running 12 minutes 5 seconds.

The Team Relay event was 5 x 1500m at Maroochydore Cricket Club which was a flat fast course, much different to the cross country course. Jacob ran the equal fastest time for the SA team at 5 minutes 4 seconds for the 1500m and the team just missed out on the Bronze medal

Jacob had a great time and has made some great friends through this experience

Well done Jacob on your recent success!
