Book Week 2018 at the ELCC

29.08.18

Book week was celebrated last week by all the children at the Early Learning Centre.

Sharing of stories, provocations and experiences related to the stories were all enjoyed by the children. We even followed the trails and found some treasure!

Woods room children enjoyed listening to and making their own koalas, from the story “Koala” by Claire Saxby & Julie Vivas

The McAuley room children enjoyed listening to “Can you find me ?” by Gordon Winch & Patrick Shirvington and making clay figures of Australian animals as part of the story.

The Mackillop (Kindy) children all shared the story “I am Australian too” by Mem Fox. Australiana – money, animals, Indigenous art, and Flags of the world and treasure hunting, were all featured experiences in the room.

For Prayer time, all the children learnt sign language to the song “We are Australian” as our books were all Australian themed stories. We all had a great book week!
