Tip of the Week from your Deputy Principal

15.08.18

This week, will focus on the subject selection process for 2019 Year 8 to 12 students. Beginning next week all current students in Years 7 to 11 will be selecting their subjects for 2019.

On Monday 20 August at St Anthony’s Millicent and Tuesday 21 August, at Mary MacKillop Memorial School Penola, 2019 subject selection and subject counselling evenings will be held for 2019 Year 8 and 2019 Year 10 to 12 students who have already made an appointment time.

On Thursday 23 August and Friday 24 August current Tenison Woods College Year 7 and Year 8 students will enter their subject selections into Web Choice, the Tenison Woods College timetabling software. Students in Years 7 and 8 are to return their subject selection forms to their Home group teacher and students in Years 9 to 11 should have already handed their subject selection forms into the PRC Administration. If there are any issues regarding this, please see Tanya Thomson.

On 20 August all Tenison Woods College students will receive a Web Choice code by email in their Tenison Woods College emails. Students are to access this Web Code for subject counselling and subject selection sessions.

During Week 5 (August 23 to August 30) subject counselling interviews for 2019 subject selection will take place at Tenison Woods College for students in Year 9 to 11. Students will discuss their subject selections with subject counsellors and will enter their 2019 subject choices into Web Choice.

2019 Senior School students and families are asked to discuss their 2019 subject selections in readiness for subject counselling, for entering their subjects selections into Web Choice and if possible, to take into consideration future pathways in their subject choices. It is not imperative that students know exactly what their pathway will be in future years however some initial thinking in this area would be beneficial. Students in Year 8 and 9 in 2019 will experience a range of subjects which will provide an overview and experience of all subjects on offer.

Please note, for 2019 Senior School Students: If parents are yet to make any bookings and wish to attend the counselling sessions, please contact Tanya Thomson to book a time slot. If an appointment request is not made, we will allocate a time for your child to be counselled individually throughout the school day.

NEED SUBJECT SELECTION SUPPORT?

I look forward to offering some more tips from Week 7.
