Book Week 2018 at Tenison Woods College

01.08.18

Each year the Children’s Book Council of Australia celebrates Children’s Book Week. This is a celebration of Australian Children’s Literature and brings together schools, libraries, booksellers, authors, illustrators, parents, teachers and children. During this time the Book of the Year is also announced.

Everyone at Tenison Woods College is looking forward to a wonderful celebration of books during Book Week 2018. We will be celebrating Book Week in Week 5 from August 20 – August 24. The theme for 2018 is ‘Find your treasure’. Our annual parade will take place in the Barrie Holmes Stadium from 9.00am until 9.35am on Friday 24 August.

Struggling to find costume ideas? To match the theme, we have the following suggestions: explorers, deep sea divers, detectives, archaeologists, characters from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or Peter Pan and characters from a book your child and your family treasure. Additionally, the Library is having a ‘Treasures from Ancient Egypt’ theme so matching in with this is another suggestion.
