NAIDOC Week Celebrations

NAIDOC Week is held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The theme this year is 'Because of Her, We Can!’ To support our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community the student leadership teams at Tenison Woods College have organised some activities at lunchtime under the sails on Thursday 5 July:

  • Kangaroo and Emu meat to try – Free of charge
  • Scavenger Hunt
  • Face painting
  • Finger painting and music

These activities are open to all year levels.

The library is also running a competition to create a poster around the theme of ‘Because of Her, We Can!’

To find out more information about NAIDOC Week you can view the NAIDOC Week website.
