Lions Mad Minute Competition

04.07.18

This term, Year 5 students have been involved in the Lions Mad Minute competition. This project is an initiative of the Mount Gambier Lions Club and provides a structured impromptu speaking competition for all Year 5 students across the Limestone Coast. The competition encourages students to have fun while learning to be engaging, confident and creative speakers.

Firstly, students competed at school against their classmates, where one winner was selected from each Year 5 class to attend the Grand Challenge. The Grand Challenge was held on Tuesday 26 June at Mount Gambier High School. Alex Obedi, Jolie Vaughan and Mia Cottell were the three talented students who represented Tenison Woods College. These students presented confident speeches and represented the College proudly, as did all the Year 5 students who competed. The group placed second to Reidy Park Primary School in the large school division, which is a fantastic result.
