Reception Art Exhibition

04.07.18

Last Wednesday night, the Reception staff and students hosted the annual Reception Art Exhibition. This year’s theme ‘Images of Me’ gave the children the opportunity to experiment with different techniques and mediums to create a variety of self-portraits.

The Reception children devoted time throughout the term to creating their special pieces for display. With a focus on ‘me and my world’ they reflected on personal experience, qualities and characteristics and used these as inspiration for their art works. Each child created four self-portraits and a very special family portrait for display on the night.

The children loved the opportunity to celebrate their success and learning with loved ones. The buzz of excitement during the opening night and huge smiles on our budding artists’ faces was truly special and showed just how much they value this special event.

This year, we were also very privileged to have Director of Catholic Education, Neil McGoran attend the opening night to view the works on display and share in the vibrant celebration of learning.
