Trinity

Last Sunday we celebrated the Feast of the Holy Trinity. Classes begin each day with prayer and each prayer begins with the Sign of the Cross. Each time we say the words ‘In the Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit’ we are stating our belief in the Holy Trinity and acknowledging faith in the three personas that make up the one God – God as Father, God as Son and God as Holy Spirit.

Weekend Retreat at Robe

We are excited to announce that there will be a Weekend Retreat held for any students in Years 8-12 on 3-5 August. This is for anyone who thinks they might enjoy a weekend away in Robe to recharge their batteries, focus on what is important in life and spend some time discussing and reflecting on the issues of life with other young people, as well as walking on the beach and other fun activities. Students who would like more information are asked to collect a note from their homegroup teacher or parents can contact Michelle Coote for an Expression of Interest Form.

Stationery Drive

The Junior School STAR’s (See. Think. Act. Representative.) are currently holding a Stationery Drive for Timor-Leste. Donations can be made in any of the Junior School classrooms or dropped at the Front Office to be passed on to Rebecca Higgins or Donna Johnson. Stationery packs will be put together by the STAR’s later this term and taken and distributed by the students attending the Immersion trip in July.

Recorders required for Timor-Leste Immersion

Students travelling to Timor-Leste this year are planning to teach local children to play the recorder to then leave with them. If you have a recorder at home in good condition and can donate it, please send it to Chris Lloyd in the Library. Alternatively, your family may like to purchase a recorder to be donated. We also welcome any simple recorder music books.
