Open Boys Cricket Country State Champions

04.04.18

On Wednesday 4 April, the Tenison Woods College Open Boys cricket team travelled to Willalooka to take on Murray Bridge High School in the Country South Knockout Cricket Final; a game which would determine the South Australian Country State Champions. Winning the toss, Murray Bridge elected to bat first. Some solid bowling from the Titans Boys only allowed Murray Bridge to post a total of 79 runs after 35 overs. With the total in mind, opening batsmen for the Titans, Tye McManus and Connor Prior went to the crease with each of them making 11 and 17 runs respectively. This left the door open for Sam Willis to come to the crease. The Captain put on a batting performance, finishing with 47 runs to his name and allowing the Titans to finish off the Murray Bridge High School boys in just 15 overs. Top players for the day were Emerson Marks and Connor Prior with two wickets each and Sam Willis with 47 runs.
