2018 Paschal Candle

Each year at the Easter Vigil mass (Saturday at 7.30pm) the Paschal candle is blessed. The Paschal candle is used in the church until the following Easter. This year the Paschal candle for St Paul’s Church has been designed by Amaya de Silva and the design for the candle to be used by Tenison Woods College staff during 2018 has been designed by Isabella Morello. Both designs feature images of vines, grapes, pine forests, water and native flowers representing our local area. Congratulations to both artists on their designs.

Easter Sunday - 1 April 2018

Caritas Australia wish all staff and families a happy Easter!

Thank you for supporting Caritas this year as we demonstrate how A Just Future is possible for all generations, backgrounds, cultures and communities, who are part of one human family. You are empowering young people to build a just future for themselves, their families and their communities. A Just Future has started with your support!

Thank you for supporting Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion 2018 Lenten appeal.

Easter Eggs

Please keep in mind as we approach Easter that we are in Lent or Holy Week until Easter Sunday. Themes during this time are PRAYER, FASTING AND GIVING. On Easter Sunday we move into the joyful season of Easter which is 50 days of CELEBRATING.

The giving of Easter Eggs is discouraged until Easter when we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ. When considered in light of the school year, this means we would encourage students who would like to give something to their friends at school, to do so after the Easter break rather than before. The week after Easter (week 10) is Joy Week.

A group of Year 12 students have set up a display of ethical Easter eggs in the Front Office. This is well worth a look if you are wondering which Easter eggs are certified as NOT supporting child slavery. For further information, you can refer to the ACRATH website. www.acrath.org.au

Project Compassion Fundraising

As we approach Easter and Project Compassion draws to a close, we thank ALL staff, students and families who have given generously to this appeal for Caritas through fundraising at school, in classes or in homes. Project Compassion boxes are to be returned to the College or the Church. We ask that all boxes are returned by the end of Term 1 to allow the donations to be sent to Caritas.

Anyone wishing to make an online donation or to donate what is in their Project Compassion box electronically is encouraged to go to the Tenison Woods College page on the Caritas fundraising page: https://fundraise.caritas.org.au/fundraisers/tenisonwoodscollege
