Interschool Athletics Carnival

The 2018 SESSSA Interschool Athletics Carnival, hosted by St Martins Lutheran College, took place at Marist Park on Wednesday 21 March.

Schools from around the region took part in the annual event, including Bordertown High School, Naracoorte High School and Tenison Woods College.

The College was represented well with wins in the Under 20 and Under 16 divisions. Tenison Woods College placed second in the Under 14’s and third in the Under 15’s.

A special mention to Year 11 Tenison Woods College student Kyle Jones who broke the Under 20 Hurdles record. Kyle’s time of 16.64 seconds broke the old record set in 2003 by one-tenth of a second.

The overall winner from the day was Mount Gambier High School, with Tenison Woods College in second place and Grant High School in third.

Final standings are as follows;

  1. Mount Gambier High School (623 points)
  2. Tenison Woods College (597 points)
  3. Grant High School (523.5 points)
  4. Naracoorte High School (500.5 points)
  5. St Martin’s Lutheran College (445.5 points)
  6. Bordertown High School (428.5 points)
  7. Penola High School (292 points)
  8. Millicent High School (285 points)
