Job Vacancies, Year 12 results, Change of Preference, Offers, Changes to TAFE Courses

06.12.17

If students are still looking for work in 2018, please e-mail Marie Hoare with interests and applications. Admin/office work or hospitality/reception work or trades building/auto are available.

All jobs will be sent out via email until the end of week 9. After this time, students will no longer be on the school’s email list. Please email Marie or phone (08) 87 244 616 if more information is required.

Students can access their results on Tuesday 19 December. If preferences need to be changed for South Australian Universities or TAFE then this would be an opportune time (other states do have earlier change of preference dates so please check their websites).

Marie Hoare will be available at the College on Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 December, if any help is needed with this.

Universities are running change of preference days and hotlines. They will be able to provide details about courses that have vacancies, pathways into courses and options around your ATAR as well as deferment. Remember to check e-mails for first round offers on Monday 15 January (SA) and Tuesday 16 January (VIC). Please check offers from other states as dates vary. If a lower preference is given, then students can accept pending a higher offer or accept and defer pending a higher offer as there are 5 rounds up until March.

If a student misses out, then contact the targeted University to find another pathway into the course using associate degrees, diplomas, foundation studies or sitting a STAT test and deferring for a year, or doing a Certificate 4/Diploma at TAFE. There are changes to TAFE courses and the suspension of 14 qualifications (four of which are no longer offered) restricting TAFE SA’s ability to accept new enrolments in:

•             Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology

•             Certificate III in Motorcycle Mechanical Technology

•             Certificate II in Meat Processing (Abattoirs)

•             Certificate III in Commercial Cookery

•             Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing)

•             Certificate IV in Leisure and Health

•             Certificate III in Hairdressing

•             Diploma of Visual Merchandising

•             Diploma of Building and Construction

•             Certificate III in Plumbing

Please contact TAFE about these course changes and more information. TAFE applications are still open and are free to apply. TAFE offers will be out Monday 8 January. Remember to pay all fees for university applications before the end of December.

For more information about the above, please contact Marie Hoare on (08) 87 244 616 or email hoarm@tenison.catholic.edu.au
