Father Dean – 40 years of Ministry
This weekend we celebrate the ministry of Father Dean and 40 years of service to parishes in the Diocese of Adelaide. At this time, we offer thanks to Father Dean for his commitment to the vocation to which he has been called and the enthusiasm with which he ministers to the people of our community. At Tenison Woods College we are particularly thankful for Father Dean’s outstanding commitment, while at the same time serving a very large South East Deanery up to Bordertown and through the Southern Ports. This support is expressed in a variety of life-giving ways for our people, our ideas and structures, and importantly for our Catholic culture and charism.

As we celebrate Father Dean’s ministry and leadership we pray for his continued good health, enthusiasm for his vocation and wisdom in his service.

Congratulations and Thanks
As we draw the school year to a close my appreciation is extended to the students, staff and parents for their active participation in the journey of learning at Tenison Woods College. My gratitude is also extended to the many people who have contributed their services to the school community in 2017. The quality of education at Tenison Woods College is due to the contribution of many people who support our committed staff, most particularly the members of the School Board, Parent Class Representatives, and all those who have volunteered their service in a variety of ways throughout the College community. Thank you for your contributions and I trust there is a sense of satisfaction, knowing that you have played a part in the ultimate quality of your child’s learning, and that of many others.

Thank you to Staff Concluding Service
As we conclude the year we offer thanks to staff who are concluding their service with the College:

  • Gill Clayfield - Poplars Manager

At this time, I note particularly the dedicated commitment to our school community and Catholic Education South Australia more broadly of Gill Clayfield. Gill has offered 40 years of dedicated service to our communities. In those 40 impressive years she has championed inclusive education and established the Poplars Unit in our school community; a unit which has brought hope and fulfilment to many families in our region.

Gill’s legacy will live on through the Poplars Unit and the lives of students, parents and teachers who have been inspired by her passion, enthusiasm and can-do attitude.

Priestly Appointments in our Deanery
There will be changes to the location and service of priests in our Deanery. We wish Father Michael Romeo the very best as he takes up the appointment of Parish Priest in Penola, servicing also Robe and Kingston. Father Peter Fountain will join Father Dean Marin in Mount Gambier and Millicent. We are thankful for our priestly ministry in this Deanery and trust the changes will meet the evolving needs of our priests and communities.
