Italian Cultural Exchange – Host families required

06.12.17

A group of up to 35 students and several staff members from our sister school in Turin, Italy will be arriving in Mount Gambier on the 9 February and leaving 20 February 2018.

We would like you to consider hosting one of these students in your home. Hosting an exchange student can be a rewarding experience that creates friendships potentially lasting a lifetime. It also gives us an insight into the ways of others and at the same time provides us with a new way to look at our own lifestyle. They will surely appreciate many aspects of our way of life, but at the same time they may be curious, amazed and sometimes shocked by some of our habits and ways of doing things.

Another benefit is that it gives us the chance to see our own community from the perspective of a tourist. When was the last time you marvelled at kangaroos, a game of cricket, the Blue Lake, our beautiful beaches, the Honan Mint Walking Trails, the wide open spaces and the myriad of other exciting places we have on our doorstep?

Some of our students who travelled to Italy last year have expressed interest in hosting students they met and we would encourage those families to also put their names forward to reciprocate the hospitality.

If you are interested in hosting a student from Italy please contact Micki Greenham at greed@tenison.catholic.edu.au or Annie Clifford at clifa@tenison.catholic.edu.au
