Champagnat Day
On Tuesday 6 June, we will celebrate the Feast of St Marcellin Champagnat. Champagnat died on this date in 1840.

Marcellin Champagnat was a priest who dedicated his life to Mary and to education. He founded the Marist Brothers in France in 1817. In 1931 the Marist Brothers were invited by the Sisters of Mercy in Mount Gambier, to come and take charge of the new planned boys school, Marist Brothers College. They remained in Mount Gambier at Marist Brothers College and Tenison College until 1986.

On Tuesday 6 June, we will celebrate Champagnat Day with a Whole School Mass at 11.00am in the Barrie Holmes stadium. We would love members of the College community to join us for this mass.

All members of the Champagnat House are invited to wear their PE uniform on Champagnat Day and to bring along a plate of food for a shared lunch. The lunch will take place at 1.15pm in the Multi Purpose Room. Food can be delivered to the MPR between 8.15-8.45am or from 1.00pm.

Champagnat parents and staff are welcome to attend the lunch.

Food can be themed ‘green’ (green colour, green plate etc….) although this is not essential.

Vinnies Book Sale
Last week, the Middle School Social Justice group held a very successful Book Sale. Books were collected from the Vinnies shop and sold during lunchtime. The sale raised over $170 for Vinnies which will assist with food, clothing and blankets during the winter months. Don’t forget if you are looking for a selection of wonderful books, Vinnies on Crouch Street has a wide range to choose from with all profits assisting those in need.
