Open Girls Football

09.05.17

The Tenison Woods College Open Girls Football Team are on the road to successfully defending their 2016 State Championship title, as they victoriously defeated Millicent High at North Gambier Football Oval on Monday 8 May.

The girls started with a bang in the opening quarter, leading 7.4 - 0.0. Throughout the second quarter, nothing changed, as the girls dominated the field with their skills and determination for the ball, stretching their strong lead to 15.4 - 0.0.

Unfortunately, during the first few minutes of the third quarter, a Millicent Player went down injured forcing the game to an end. However, our girls were able to go away with a win, progressing them through to the second round where they will play against Murray Bridge High School and Glossop High School at Keith later on in the term.

The goal kickers for the day were Bella Stratford with 5, Olivia Fuller with 5, Ella Little with 2, Breanna Forster with 2, Sarah Opie with 1 and Hannah Nulty with 1.

Best Players for the day were Bella Stratford, Olivia Fuller, Jordyn Adams, Courtney De Barro and Chloe Vanderhorst.

Well done to all involved.
