Tenison Woods College’s ‘SHINE Media’ program was recognised at the 2017 Arch D Awards at Sacred Heart College in Adelaide on Friday 24 February.

School staff, including SHINE Media Organiser Jason Scheidl and student Laura Turley travelled up to Adelaide to accept a Special Achievement Award from James Meston - Catholic Education SA’s Religious Education Administrator and Producer for Arch D Radio.

Arch D Radio is a Catholic youth radio show, broadcast on 107.9 Life FM every Wednesday and Saturday night. It’s produced by the Catholic Office for Youth and Young Adults.

“It’s fantastic for the students to be recognised for the great work they’re doing. It’s also really positive to have this type of recognition in just the first year of SHINE Media,” said Mr Scheidl.

This year, the SHINE Media program is expanding to offer a larger variety of options for students to engage in media, including digital, video and even social media with their own Facebook Group ‘SHINE @ TWC’.

Tenison Woods College respectfully acknowledges the Boandik people are the First Nations people of the Mount Gambier South Eastern region of South Australia and pay respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, past, present and emerging.
