On Thursday 16 February we celebrated the first Mass of the year with 1800 people on Marist Park. The weather was kind as Fr Michael and Fr Dean helped us welcome new members to our community and pray together using the Widows Mite passage to challenge us all to bring what we have to offer to the College community during 2017. The Mass began with the Receptions and Year 12’s processing in to emphasise the learning journey of all students and the uniqueness of each individual.

2017 Faith in Action Leader
At the end of Mass, Laura Turley was announced as the 2017 Faith in Action Leader. We look forward to Laura's outstanding leadership in the faith and community service dimension of the College and wish her well in this important student leadership role.

Shrove Tuesday
Pancakes are traditionally served on the Tuesday before Lent begins, which historically was an opportunity for households to use up luxury items before the season of Lent began. Pancakes will be available on Tuesday for $1.00. Money raised will go to Project Compassion.

Ash Wednesday
All students will attend Ash Wednesday liturgies in year levels on Wednesday 1 March. As this is a Holy day of fasting and prayer there will be no meat served in the canteen or Sugarloaf Café.

Project Compassion
During Lent each year, Caritas Australia holds its Project Compassion appeal. Project Compassion boxes are available for all families and will be distributed by the youngest family member’s home group teacher. These can be returned to the College or Church Office by the end of term. Families are encouraged to think of ways to support this appeal and students will be involved in fundraising at the College.

Youth Mass
This Sunday there is a Youth Mass at 5.00pm at St Paul’s Church. Youth masses are held on the second and forth Sunday of the month.

Sacrament Preparation
This weekend, 25 and 26 February, there will be Liturgy of the Word for children at both 6.00pm Mass on Saturday and 11.00am Mass on Sunday.

The third of the family preparation sessions will be held on Thursday 23 February in the Tenison Woods College staffroom at either 4.30pm or 7.00pm.

Masses at the College
Mass is celebrated in the Tenison Woods College Chapel every Thursday at 9.15am during term time. All members of the community are invited to attend.
