Work Experience

16.01.19

Work experience is an opportunity for students in Years 10, 11 and 12 to undertake a placement at a workplace of their choice to gain an insight into a potential career path and/or industry.

Whilst optional for Years 11 and 12, it is a requirement for Year 10 students as part of the Personal Learning Plan (PLP), which is a compulsory SACE Stage 1 subject. Students will be awarded ten credits towards the SACE for the completion of the PLP. The program is designed to help students understand their preferences and personality traits and to explore careers of interest. Students will consider their aspirations and research career, training and further study choices to help them map out their future. They will then complete a plan which assists with subject selections for Year 11 and Year 12 in line with identified career preferences.

Year 11 and 12 students can complete work experience between 29 April and 3 May 2019.

Year 10 students will complete work experience from 1 to 5 July 2019 inclusive. Students will be provided with full instructions on how to source an employer and have the mandatory documentation completed, in addition to specific workplace training on safety, discrimination and harassment.
