Welcome to the First Careers Newsletter for 2019

16.01.19

Welcome to the first Careers Newsletter for 2019. It’s an important year for all senior students - Year 10s will undertake a year-long program called the Personal Learning Plan, designed to have students explore future career options including a week of compulsory work experience, Year 11’s will further explore and decide on areas of interest and further study for Year 12, and Year 12’s will complete their SACE and commence planning post-school - potentially applying to university, apprenticeship, traineeship or other employment.   And some may look to commence employment prior to Year 12 completion.

In addition to seeking guidance from their teachers, VET Coordinator and other staff at the College, the Careers Advisor provides support in the following areas for students:

  • Career counselling, research and guidance
  • Subject counselling
  • Flexible learning options (eg TAFE courses)
  • Identifying and/or applying for Traineeships – school-based or full-time
