Junior Sports: Term 2

02.05.17

AUSKICK
A reminder about the Tenison Auskick program starting this term for any interested R-2 students. It will be on Tuesday afternoons from 3:30pm – 4:20pm starting 16 May (Week 3 of the term). There will be 6 sessions with the last one being on Tuesday 20 June. Parents must register their child online. Visit www.aflauskick.com.au and follow the links to register at Tenison Woods College. The cost of Auskick is $60, unless you choose to use the Junior Sport Voucher making the cost only $10. The Junior Sport Voucher scheme is a government funded initiative to bring down the cost of sport for junior students in Reception – Year 7.  Please be aware, you can only use this voucher once per child this year. If you choose to use it for Auskick, you cannot use it again for any other sport fee at school or club level. If you choose to use the Junior Sport Voucher, it is a very simple process of ticking a box during registration and providing your Medicare number. You pay the $10 or $60 by credit card at the website. All this information then gets forwarded onto the school. For any families that don’t have access to the Internet, perhaps come into school and speak to the front office about doing it here.

Please note: There are 2 forms of registration – Registration for students doing Auskick for the first time (New Participant), or for those that have done Auskick before (Re-Register). For those doing Auskick for the first time, the money pays for the sessions, insurance and students receive an Auskick backpack with lots of football gifts inside. For returning Auskick students, there is no pack, instead the AFL will be providing a top in the student’s AFL team. Once registered, the AFL will send you an email asking what AFL top you would like.

Sessions this year will be run by the Tenison Woods College PE team, along with some senior students.

YEAR 3-5 SATURDAY MORNING SPORT – FOTBALL AND NETBALL
Thankyou to all who have returned their notes. The competition for both of these sports starts at the end of Week 2 (13 May).  If anyone still wants to play but doesn’t have a note, please come to the PE Office to collect one. Trainings will be on Thursday afternoons 3:30pm – 4:15pm starting in Week 2.

CROSS COUNTRY
The annual Cross Country Championships in Naracoorte are being held Friday 19 May (Week 3). This is for any interested students born in 2004 – 2008. Notes for this came out this week. If anyone missed out, please collect one from the PE Office.
