Year 8 Reflection Day

02.07.21

On Thursday, Year 8 students spent the morning at Mt Burr Swamp undertaking activities that highlighted their commitment to be stewards of God’s beautiful creation. The Gilap Wanga - Ngula wangingi mraata ba wanginyi Learning Community has an ongoing and developing relationship with the Swamp that reveals the desire to be a place of listening to country, self and others.

Students enjoyed vegetation planting, macro invertebrate searching and identification, dot painting on tiles that are being used to line pathways, a treasure hunt using GPS devices and helping develop signage for the area. We thank the knowledgeable and friendly staff from the Glenelg Nature Trust and Boandik descendant Matthew Brookes for his wisdom and inspiration. The Year 8 community finished the day with a Liturgy, which linked all the activities with the wonder and awe we have in God’s wonderful world.

All staff were very impressed with the positive and interested attitudes shown by students throughout the activities, despite some wintry conditions.
