Nine Year Winning Streak in State Basketball!

18.11.20

The Tenison Woods College Year 8/9 Girls Basketball Team became State Champions on Wednesday 11 November, winning a nail biter final against Henley High School in Adelaide. The win marks a nine year winning streak for the 8/9 Girls division at Tenison Woods College. 5 consecutive years in a row from 2014-2018. Missing out last year, the Titans are now back in the winning circle in 2020.

Both teams were trading baskets throughout the game, resulting in a one-point win at the last second by the Titans. Henley High were a tough side, but our girls proved to be stronger. The girls put up a fantastic effort and I was very proud to be coaching them during the course of the competition.

Congratulations must also go to the Year 8/9 Boys team and coach Richard Hill who finished 5th overall in the state competition.

Well done to all students on their outstanding results!
