Choral and Vocal Eisteddfods Success

Tenison Woods College is very proud of its choirs and individual Students who competed in last week’s Choral and Vocal Eisteddfods. Our Students represented themselves with distinction and their results are a credit to their hard work and the support of their teachers.

Two of our Students were awarded major scholarships. Maixence Williams awarded the Backstage Inc. Scholarship for “Under 18 Character in Costume”. Gabriel Strachan was awarded the “Under 12 Lions Encouragement Award”. The College was also represented by four choirs.

Primary Choir (Year 3/4/5) – 2 first places

  • Primary Schools Own Choice Choir
  • Primary Schools Choirs song by an Australian Composer

Music Connection (Year 6/7) – 2 first places

  • Intermediate song from a Musical or Motion Picture
  • Intermediate song by an Australian Composer

Concert Choir (Year 8-12) – 2 equal first places

  • Secondary Schools Unaccompanied plus accompanied
  • Senior Blues and Jazz Choir

Senior Vocal Ensemble (Years 9-12) – 1 equal first place, one second place

  • Secondary Schools Unaccompanied plus accompanied (2nd)
  • Senior Blues and Jazz Choir (equal 1st)
