Save the Date

The public performance of In Absentia will be held at Wehl St Theatre On Wednesday 7 June  at 7:00pm.

With a talented Year 12 cast and offstage support, we are thrust back into the 1970's where we explore the impact that a family suicide has in this era on seemingly close-knit family. With moments of comedy punctuating an intense topic, students under 15 are not recommended.

Netball National Championships

e-Smart Committee – Expressions of Interest

We are currently seeking expressions of interest to be part of an e-Smart committee. The e-smart school framework was developed by the Alannah and Madeline Foundation. It is a holistic approach to changing the behaviour of information and communications technology users.

NAPLAN 2017

In Term 2 the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests will be held throughout Australia for all students in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9. As all tests, except Year 3 Writing, will be done online at Tenison Woods College this year, the test window is longer and is from 9 May to 19 May (Week 2 and 3).

Uniform Term 2 & 3

It is now time for all students to change to the winter uniform from the beginning of Term 2. Please remember that all uniform items must adhere to the new Uniform Policy which is available on the College website or in student planners. One thing to note is that girls from Years 3 – 12 now have the option of wearing trousers as an alternative to the College skirt. These trousers are available from the Uniform Shop.

Harry Kewell comes to Tenison Woods College

We are delighted to announce that Australia’s ‘Greatest Ever Footballer’ Harry Kewell, will be visiting Tenison Woods College in June as an official guest of the High Performance Sports Program!

Harry will be conducting an exclusive closed training session for the students currently enrolled in the Tenison Woods College HPSP/IGNITE football program, as well as a community Harry Kewell Academy Masterclass at Frew Park on Saturday 3 June.

State selection for Olivia

Congratulations to year 12 HPSP athlete Olivia Fuller who has been selected in the under 18 State Girls Football team to compete in a tri-series against Tasmania and the Northern Territory. The clash against the Top End will be played as a curtain-raiser to the AFL clash between Adelaide and Melbourne at Adelaide Oval on Saturday 13 May.

Olivia is looking forward to “the experience playing with a great bunch of talented girls and forming new friendships”.

Hospitality News

Congratulations to Year 7 students in Miss Kenny's class who took the initiative to run a bake sale, raising funds for the Sunset Kitchen on Wednesday 5 April. Maddy Stevens, Lara Dodds, Edie Jones and Ariella Holland raised $108.70 by providing banana bread, low sugar jellies and cupcakes to the middle school.

Year 9 and 10 Academy of Hospitality students must be congratulated for their efforts at the Junction fundraising auction held on Friday 7 March. Tom McCourt, Harry Wilson and Liam Moulden all gave their time to collaborate under the care of Jenny Vanikiotis, Alison Gwilym and Benji McQuade from The Sugarloaf Café in producing a meal for diners who attended the auction. Diners enjoyed a beautiful main course of steak or chicken mignons with Greek salads and roasted potatoes which the students helped to prepare and serve as part of their Hospitality assessment. Congratulations everyone.

HPSP Karting Student Kai Allen wins in Geelong

Year 6 Tenison Woods College student Kai Allen enjoyed a good weekend on the race track from 31 March to 2 April in Geelong, Victoria. Kai competed in Round 2 of the Australian Kart Championship in the KA4 Junior category, and claimed first place.

We are very excited to be starting a new initiative in Term 2, 2017 – The Tenison Woods College Mini Makers Club. This is an opportunity for children to participate in a range of problem based activities using a variety of skills such as; collaboration and group work, designing, creating, evaluating, modifying and re-evaluating.

School Fees

School fees are now due. A reminder to all families who do not currently have an arranged payment plan in place, 50% of your Semester 1 school fees are now overdue. Please make payment before 13 April 2017 to avoid a late payment fee of $30.00.
