Clean Up Australian Schools Day

Last Friday 3 March, Year 2 students Ava McCullough (left) and Brydee Starick took part in the Clean Up Australian Schools Day, where Tenison Woods College students collected 540 kilograms of litter and general rubbish.

Melanoma March

Tenison Woods College was a proud supporter of the inaugural Melanoma March held on Sunday 5 March. Year 12 Students, supported by Chloe Shanahan and Faith Leader Laura Turley volunteered on the day manning stalls and making up the Melanoma March Registration Bags.

Year 9 student Crystal Ba Tu was recently successful in being awarded the Limestone Coast Opera Inc Junior scholarships. Crystal performed in the Opera Matinee concert on Sunday 5 March. Tenison Woods College swimmers smashed a long standing record in the U/14 Female Medley at the Catholic Co-Educational Secondary Swimming Carnival at the North Adelaide Aquatic Centre in Adelaide on Tuesday 28 February.

High Performance Sports Program Trials for Year 4 - 7

Year 4 - 7 students have the opportunity to try out for Netball, Football and Soccer as part of the 'Ignite' High Performance Sports Program.

The program is suitable for students who have a strong commitment to their sport and who are looking to improve their individual talent.

On Sunday 5 March, Australian Basketball star and three time Olympian Rachael Sporn (centre) met with Tenison Woods College Titans Basketball Academy students Gabby Van Rijin (left), Emily Close, Madi Haggett and Emily Dawe. Rachael offered her insights about how anything is possible, along with what she has achieved both on and off the basketball court.

Boys Open Baseball Team in State Final

Well done to our Open Boys Baseball team for making it into the State final after defeating Mount Gambier High School on Monday at the Blue Lake Sports Park.

The Boys won the match 8 - 1 and this, along with their 13 - 0 win against Grant High School earlier this term, means they now progress to the state final in Adelaide. The final will take place in Week 9 of this term. We congratulate all of the players involved.

Congratulations to Ethan Chuck (left), Lauchie Jackman Tilley and Brock Keding who were recently selected in the U/17 State School Boys Baseball Team. The boys will compete in Cairns Sunday 30 April to Saturday 6 May.

Debate Night

Six enthusiastic students participated in the inaugural Debate Night on Friday 3 March held in the Tenison Woods College Lecture Theatre. In front of an audience of family, friends and staff, the topic for the evening was ‘That imagination is more precious than knowledge’.

Open Girls Cricket

Tenison Woods College played Mount Gambier High School in the Open Girls cricket on Tuesday 7 March, defeating Mount Gambier High 4 for 72 to 10 for 65. The girls won the toss and elected to bowl and this proved a wise decision as Lucy Williams took a hat- trick in the first over to have Mount Gambier High reeling at 3 for 0.
