Interschool Swimming Success

Welcome to Week 4. Thank you to the 40 community members, staff and families who offered their valuable time to our whole school working bee on Saturday 18 February.

The College community gathered at Marist Park for the first Mass of the year on Thursday 16 February.

At Tenison Woods College we are blessed to have the ability to teach and learn in a picturesque environment. We all too often forget to see the beauty in the things that surround us; new leaves on a branch, the perennial plants still holding on to flowers through the long summer, or simply the diverse ecosystems on our school grounds.

We had some brilliant entries for our two Library Lovers competitions this year. Students could either write a story or make a heart book.

Year 10 students have hit the ground running, already completing components of task one for their 10-credit Personal Learning Plan (PLP) SACE subject, which is all geared around investigating themselves as learners.

Flynn Collins came home from school on Tuesday and asked if he had a spare school shirt? Because he didn't, his mother asked why he wanted another one? He said a student in his class needed one because he doesn't have one and asked if they could buy one for him? He then said.. oh I've saved thirty dollars we could use that. Using his own money, Flynn bought a new shirt for this student. What a thoughtful thing to do. Thanks Flynn.

The West Hockey Club will host a come and try session and registration day on Sunday 26 February 2017 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Blue Lake Sports Park. All welcome.

On Thursday 16 February we celebrated the first Mass of the year with 1800 people on Marist Park. The weather was kind as Fr Michael and Fr Dean helped us welcome new members to our community...

A reminder that the Year 8-12 Athletics Carnival will be held tomorrow from 12.00pm - 3.20pm and Friday from 8.35am - 3.20pm at Marist Park. We welcome all parents and carers to join us and support the students over the two day event. To see the program of events, please click 'read more' below.

Resilience is the ability to withstand, recover and possibly grow in the face of life’s challenges and misfortunes. This is an attribute we would wish for ourselves and our children. 

On Friday 10 February, the Junior School Twilight Swimming Carnival was held for students in Years 4 - 7. Students finished classes at lunch time for the carnival which commenced at 2:30pm. 

On Tuesday 21 February Seisia and Amy from Netball South Australia visited Tenison Woods College. The professional netballers ran two separate clinics for Year 6 - 7 students and 10 High Performance Netball students at Barrie Holmes Stadium.

Don’t Panic! How to help your children with their Mathematics homework.

For the third year in a row, Tenison Woods College has been awarded the Howard Mutton Trophy.

The trophy is awarded to the school with the largest total points for outstanding participation and achievements in sport in Secondary School Sport SA's programs. 

The College congratulates Year 10 student athlete Hannah Elliott and Year 9 student athlete Jacob Armitage for their State Championship successes on the weekend.

The West Gambier Junior Football Club will hold its registration day on Sunday 26 February at the club rooms from 11:00am - 1:00pm. This is for all players for grades U/12 to U/15 years.
